Our story

Why I built KnockKnockCare

The Heavy Weight of “Just Checking In”

If you have aging parents living independently, you know the daily routine. You check your phone, wondering if you should call now or wait until after dinner. You try suggesting smartwatch trackers or emergency buttons, only to watch them end up in a drawer, uncharged, or outright rejected.

“They don't want to feel monitored, and they certainly don't want to learn a complex new app,” you tell yourself. And you get it. They spent their lives being independent — the last thing they want is to feel like they're being managed.

That was the exact wall I hit with my own family. I spent months searching for a safety net that respected their independence while giving me peace of mind. Every product out there seemed to require two things my parents didn't want: wearing a device they'd constantly forget (or refuse) to wear, or navigating a technology setup that only created frustration.

I built KnockKnockCare because I couldn't find anything simple enough that didn't require my parent to learn new technology or wear a device they'd never actually use.

KnockKnockCare was born out of love, respect, and a genuine need for simplicity. It exists to bridge the gap between keeping our parents safe and letting them live on their own terms — without asking them to change a single thing about their daily habits.

Because staying connected shouldn't feel like a chore for them, or a constant source of anxiety for you.

What we're building toward

KnockKnockCare is a simple tool for a specific problem: knowing your aging parent is okay, every single day, without making it their burden to prove it. No new devices. No apps. Just a call, a button press, and a text to you.

We're a small operation — intentionally. Every subscriber is a family with a real parent on the other end of the line. We take that seriously.
